Divorce Is About More Than Law – It’s About People
When people think about divorce, they often think about court hearings, legal documents and financial settlements. In reality, divorce is rarely just a legal process. It is one of the most emotionally challenging life events a person can experience.
For nearly 20 years, I have worked exclusively in family law, helping people navigate divorce, financial settlements and arrangements for children. During that time, I have learned that people need more than legal advice. They need clarity, guidance and support at a time when they feel overwhelmed and uncertain about the future.
Today, much of my work focuses on complex divorce and financial settlement cases, helping clients protect their future.
One area I am particularly passionate about is supporting neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD, autism and other forms of neurodiversity. Family law processes can be complex and overwhelming, particularly when executive functioning, communication styles or emotional regulation are affected.
Being neurodivergent myself has shaped the way I practise law. It has reinforced my belief that there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to legal advice. People process information differently, make decisions differently and communicate differently, and I believe good legal advice should reflect that.
My approach adapts to the individual, rather than expecting the individual to adapt to the legal process. my aim is to help clients feel informed and in control.
Clients often tell me that they feel genuinely heard, understood and at ease during our meetings. I believe legal advice should be delivered in plain english, without jargon, and in a way that allows people to make informed decisions with confidence.
Because behind every case is a person, and that person matters.
My focus is not simply on providing legal advice, but on helping clients understand their position, their options and the strategies available to them, so that together we can work towards achieving the best possible outcome for them.
